Our red fox with severe mange is not an easy patient. She destroys blankets, pet beds, towels and hammocks we put in her cage. She shreds puppy pads. She doesn't like dog food, thankyouverymuch - she prefers fresh salmon with skin and rotisserie chicken. But it's a privilege to care for this little diva. She's a fighter and a survivor. Studies have identified 12 different sounds made by a red fox. Would you recognize this one? The bark is used to communicate and let a parent or siblings know where they are. While she heals in quarantine she has a warm bed, a heartbeat stuffy, and a variety of foods and water.
