When I first got my hands on the Cessna 170B, in its stock configuration two summers ago, I was not impressed by the stock, 145hp, 0-300 engine. However, everything changed when we installed the Stoots Aviation, 195hp, IO-370! Instead of struggling to climb out of a 2,700ft grass strip with two people and half tanks on a hot summer day, I can now load the airplane up (within weight and balance of course) and know that I don’t have to think twice.
