Inspired by the theological conversation between Karl Barth (1886–1968) and Friedrich Daniel Schleiermacher (1768–1834), particularly on how emotion and intuition are leading much of modern faith. In response to Schleiermacher’s Romantic-influenced theology, which placed human feelings at the center of faith, Karl Barth argued that this undermined the authority of Scripture.
