Unfortunately the rumours are true 😔 Gas & Air has been suspended for use in labour in some hospitals across the UK 🇬🇧. The reason being because exposure to it long term, which midwives are, can have long term effects. When midwives had their nitrous oxide levels tested on a shift, they were way over the safe level 😬 resulting in the suspension. There should be appropriate ventilation for gas and air to be used safely, and this is what the suspension is for, to put this ventilation in place.
