Cessna 195 in the backcountry? - Backcountry Pilot
2007年1月8日 · Cessna 190-195. They are fairly demanding airplanes on the runway, but not as ugly as many others. Just not as friendly as a 180, for example. Floats are easy to come by for these airplanes--EDO 3430's were approved. Finding the rigging is a little tougher, though they are around. I've flown several 185's mounted on 195 rigged 3430's. MTV

2009年12月20日 · Re: Cessna 195 in the backcountry? Am comparing a VFR, Butterfly rebuilt 195 with a 185B project. In terms of capital cost there is still a significant advantage for the 195, and presumably the Jacobs overhaul cost is still below …
Cessna 195 - Backcountry Pilot
2012年12月22日 · A buddy of mine just had his offer accepted on a 1947 Cessna 195. It's beautiful and he's super excited. While walking me through everything, he mentioned that his insurance broker said that the 195 is the most ground looped plane ever built. As you can see from my profile picture, I'm a Maule pilot, another plane with a reputation for ground ...

2016年7月15日 · of years, then my '54 C-180 for a number of years, and now I have the '52 C-195. There is a reason Cessna quit building round engine airplanes and went to the more "user-friendly" horizontally-opposed engines... Less maintenance, less things to worry about (hydraulic lock) before you start one up, etc. You don't see C-170/180 guys pulling

Recovering the backcountry history of the Cessna 190/195
2019年7月28日 · Clyde Cessna would be turning in his grave at the thought of a nice Super Cub comfortably exceeding in value a well maintained, if not pristine, 195. Interestingly, he himself preferred the 190 over the 195. Learning of some real experiences operating this icon in the backcountry would make a great article/thread.
Cessna Fuel Bladder replacement, 180/182 - Backcountry Pilot
2018年6月21日 · Thanks hotrod180... Hoping to start up today and fly home from Burbank to Boise tomorrow...Thursday. I’ll write a longer post next week about the experience but for now I’ll say...the vent tube IS next to the left strut, the plane had the original bladders built by US Rubber in 1958, and even after sitting for 15 years empty they looked really good.
Jacking a Cessna - Backcountry Pilot
2005年9月28日 · While I use mine on my 182 wheels, I also used it on a 195 recently with the big wheels, and it easily went from lifting the gear resting on the floor to up in the air for the big wheels in a few seconds without any drama. The arm on mine is about 3 1/2' long.
Cessna Cardinal on Floats? - Backcountry Pilot
2018年9月2日 · The 195 is a decent seaplane. they (or the 190, can’t recall) were used by the military on floats (EDO 3430s). I’ve never flown one, but watched several operating off water, and they’re not super performers, but they get it done. They have a LOT of wing (similar span to 180/185, but very different planform.).
Which tail-draggers are least prone to ground-looping?
2019年1月20日 · I think visibility has a large impact on ground loops. Airplanes with poor forward visibility in a landing attitude (Cessna 195, for example) seem to have worse reputations for looping. Likewise, "short coupled" airplanes seem to suffer more. The larger the triangle made by the landing gear, the more inherent stability in ground handling.
