2018年5月31日 · If the drive that contains the backup is formatted to Fat32 or ExFat, Windows should be able to read the drive as soon as you plug it in, BUT if the Backup drive is formatted to the Mac default File System of HFS-Plus, you will need to install other software to enable Windows to read the HFS+ file system.

Are copying the library to your internal hard drive and trying to run it from there? Or are you trying to run the library from the external drive?

Then I simply use DS file or DS photos to do manual backups during the week if I by chance take a lot of pics that week before my scheduled Synology Drive backup is set to automatically backup my library file.

In other words, they will not be stored in iCloud twice -- once in iCloud Photos and once in iCloud Backup. First you have to restore the iPhoto Library from your backup disk to your Pictures folder. Is your backup a Time Machine backup? Then use Time Machine to restore the iPhoto Library (not the iPhoto.app) to your new Mac.
