2022年10月19日 · My Zoanthrope unit just did 8MWs to Belakor, that's like 200 point worth of damage, paying for themselves with 1 smite lol. Not to mention the huge defensive buff they offer. Maleceptor might actually be better in a 1K game though, especially since you have a Tervigon.

2017年12月4日 · I would build a Neurothrope and just sub it in as a counts-as Zoanthrope whenever I want to run a brood of 3 Zoeys (so, never). Venomthropes are worth it if you plan on a footslogging army or a static gunline - both of those are exposed to enemy shooting quite a bit so they would benefit from the -1 to hit vs enemy shooting.

2018年12月9日 · Used all the bits to build Zoanthrope except the back vent thingy, which fit better on the Venom look-wise, and the little notch for them on Zoanthropes are very easy to fill out. I did some quick mould of the extra pieces needed, namely the chest piece, and the Neurothrope spine-thing that I used as a tail.

2021年9月10日 · Finally took the time to film the next video in my Tyranid Tactica series. In this video I cover one of my favorite units, the Zoanthrope. Since way back in 6th edition this model and unit has been featured in a great deal of my lists. I'm really excited to use my experience with the unit to help share tactics.

The Zoanthrope, the basal clade for Brainbugs is clearly an adaption to produce the a purely psychic Tyranid species, hence the massive brains which are likely the cheapest way for the hive mind to guarantee that all members of the species are psychic.

I agree 5" hurts dealing with tagging a lot. And it is certainly a factor against the Zoanthrope when compared to Exocrine due to big guns never tire. But this is not a unique issue for this class of unit. And Tyranids have more tools than most to prevent this from happening. You don't have to castle to prevent taggers.
