Monkey World features the largest group of chimpanzees outside of Africa which are housed in four different social groups. [13] Many of its animals are rescued from the black market pet trade, laboratories and from abuse as tourist photographer props.

Monkey World is not a zoo but a primate rescue centre. The 65-acre park is home to more than 250 monkeys, chimpanzees, orang-utans, gibbons and lemurs.

Monkey World is a 65-acre park in the heart of the Dorset countryside. It's home to over 230 rescued and endangered monkeys and apes of 25 species. Open to visitors every day except Christmas Day.

The Monkey World Park covers a large area and the apes here have some large well equipped enclosures in which to roam and climb relatively freely. Many of the chimpanzees have been rescued from former lives where they were treated badly by their owners and some still carry both mental and physical scars.
