2023年10月24日 · In Microsoft Paint, if I do, "selection rectangle", and then "delete", I get a checkered background. This did not happen before. I do Not have "Transparent selection" in settings. 2017年7月23日 · Paint v5.1 (Windows XP) had a fantastic feature to allow you to paste an image with a transparent background (see images below, note that "Paste" section that appears below the tools on the left). Paint v6.3 (Windows 8.1) has some new features but apparently not the ability to paste an image with a transparent background.

2021年3月5日 · The black has something to do with the transparency. If something is transparent, there is no color given, so Paint must've chosen (0, 0, 0) because there's no given color whatsoever. If you open the same file in IrfanView or Chrome 67.0.3396.87 the background is displayed as black. I am working with a .tif image with transparent background in paint.net. I want to see what the image will look like on a white background. (The transparent sections. I can kludge it by creating an extra "bottom" layer and filling it with white, but would be nice to do that with a setting.

I'm actually very familiar with Gimp. The problem is that the image coming off the clipboard has a white background. I'm trying to find a solution where the image has a transparent background so I don't have to try and remove the white background and add transparency to the parts of the shape that are semi transparent via an image editor like Gimp.

I tried to select "text highlight color" -> "No color" and "Shading" -> "No color" but it did not help. How can I remove this background?
