The M41 Walker Bulldog, officially 76-mm gun tank M41, was an American light tank developed for armed reconnaissance purposes. [8] [9] It was produced by Cadillac between 1951 and 1954 and marketed successfully to the United States Army as a replacement for its aging fleet of World War II-vintage M24 Chaffee tanks. [6]

Initially known as the Little Bulldog, the tank was eventually named the Walker Bulldog after Lieutenant General Walton H. Walker, who died in a Jeep accident in Korea. After the production ended, Cadillac focused on running modernization programs for the M41 and M41A1 tanks.

M41A3 Walker Bulldog The M41 series of light tanks were quick and maneuverable, with a top speed of 45 mph. They were designed for reconnaissance and security missions, not direct tank-to-tank combat.

The M41 Walker Bulldog Tank began life in the late 1940s as the T41. It was the lightweight member of a family of three tanks: T42 which became M47 (medium) and T43 which became M103 (heavy). The maneuverable tank had speed for modern battleground.
