Sweat Equity: Your lathe and table will need leveled. Your lathe will need the Gibs replaced/adjusted. Your lathe will require initial cleaning and then lubrication.

2012年9月3日 · When I sold my Atlas 10F24, I held on to my Bison 5” 3J, as it was fairly new. Naturally I needed to make a new backing plate to mount it onto the new lathe. The old plate was 1 1/2” X 8 while the new spindle is 2 1/4” X 8, so I needed new metal to do this. I recently purchased 2 backing plates from Busy Bee Tools.

For more specialized materials I've used Hobby Metal Kits, and Online Metals as well as finding small stuff for sale on ebay and Craigslist. Hobby Metal Kits sells stuff in 6" and 12" lengths and ships in pre-paid flat rate boxes so the shipping costs are not too bad.

2020年11月19日 · The Monarch 10EE seems to be a very popular lathe, to me the 20-30" bed seems a bit restrictive. The clones for the classics aren't bad either. I'm familiar with the Cadillac which is a Korean made clone of Mori. Also Whacheon/Hwacheon and Webb. I got lucky when I bought my lathe.
