Gyeongbokgung (Korean: 경복궁; Hanja: 景福宮; lit. Radiant Prosperity Palace), also known as Gyeongbok Palace or Gyeongbokgung Palace, was the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty. Built in 1395, it is located in northern Seoul, South Korea.

2024年5月13日 · Gyeongbokgung Palace, located north of Gwanghwamun Square, is one of the most iconic sights in all of Korea thanks to its long and storied history. Construction on Gyeongbokgung Palace was completed in 1395 at the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty during the reign of King Taejo.

When Gyeongbokgung was built in 1867, the fourth year of the reign of King Gojong, the pavilion was reconstructed. The pillars were replaced by new ones that lack the splendor of the former. But animals were carved on the stone bridges and railings.

Gyeongbokgung Palace is a must-see destination for anybody visiting Seoul. As the major palace of the Joseon dynasty, it provides an excellent chance to learn about Korean culture and history.
