2024年11月28日 · A squirrely sounding third string is a common complaint on short, 22.5", scale guitars. It is gauged in a range that could be either wound or plain. Most sets will have a plain third string which is usually preferred on longer scale guitars. On short scale guitars I find that I need to replace the plain third with a wound string to sound right.

2016年10月24日 · For a 6 string instrument I use a 1.875" / 47.6 mm at the nut and match the bridge to the pickups pole spacing. I don't do a proportional / staggered spacing. It makes sense for a fretted instrument, more finger room, but not an advantage when playing with a bar. In fact, as Robert points out, it changes the string to string geometry on slants.

2024年12月21日 · i've been having an issue that is occuring more and more frequently on my emmons push pull; sometimes when i raise my 6th string with my b pedal, it won't raise all the way, and comes out a bit flat. if i release it and press the pedal again it raises all the way. it went from happening very infrequently to an unhealthy frequency. it needs to be fixed!

2024年12月20日 · I think the Morrell version makes the most sense. It is 10 string, but I see the low E and D to be the spot to extend, play around with it. I would take it down to Low B somehow. 2023年3月21日 · For the E9th, those have an .011 instead of .010 on the 3rd string, .018p on the 5th and .038 on the 10th. I find this to help out to thicken the sound on my metal neck Emmons push pull. I've tried other brands over time, and as far as the tone, to my untrained, old fashioned country western ear, I really can't tell the difference.
