2015年1月5日 · As they were not made in the mint, basically they are PMD ( post mint damage) , made by companies calling themselves by names similar to Heritage Mint, etc. and asking several times face value. I don't recall any gold plated ones, but there were quite a few different groups. Enjoy them for the memories!

2005年3月8日 · This is a Gold Plated 1974 Kennedy Half Dollar coin. It comes with an electroplate certificate from the Andrews Collectors Society and has the serial number 34711. It is 24 Kt Gold. I am also tagging it with that 1980 half dollar that highlights coincidences between Lincoln and JFK. Bonus: Whoever buys this gets this miniature coin set.

I have a 1972 Eisenhower Gold Plated (I'm assuming not a "real gold coin" ) Dollar coin. I cannot find this in any coin book or online source. It is definately NOT painted on by somebody either bored or playing a joke.

2018年6月9日 · The 1887 Indian Head Cent is very damaged. It looks as if someone took a wire brush to it to try to clean it. And the green stuff on the obverse and reverse could be verdigris (copper rot). While I like the war nickels very much, these are also circulated and common. But the point in collecting coins is, if you like them that's what matters.

2010年3月9日 · It was plated by immersing in a gold bearing electrolyte and being connected to a DC current with the coin as the cathode and a piece of gold as the anode. If you reverse the polarity, gold atoms will come off the coin and go into solution, and gold atoms will come out of solution to deposit on the gold cathode.
