Mar 2, 2022 · It's possible to be in Dolby's specs but have bad, poor performing Atmos that will leave you feeling Atmos is the problem and frankly missing out on what Atmos should be. While yes some native Atmos mixes lack, but if others like a mix and you don't, it's not the mix, it's setup and vague, misleading setup instructions.

Nov 25, 2024 · So I had to switch my sound system to optical source, wait a bit because Windows 11 audio properties seemed to bug, and finally Dolby Atmos appeared in the spatial sound list. Running test worked fine as Dolby digital after everything was setup as Dolby Atmos ( Nvidia high définition audio and spatial sound ).

I use a 4ch speaker selector to switch between TV/Games/Movies in 7.2 and Atmos in 5.2.2 (the speaker wire runs from the Height channel into the selector and then out to the upward-firing units and the rear surrounds.

My room though is huge. Take a look at my speaker placement with attachments So the problem i am having is this room is 21 feet long by 15 feet wide.

Jan 6, 2017 · Can I run Atmos 5.1.2 with the Atmos modules on top of the Surround L/R speakers instead of the Front L/R speakers? My KEF LS50's that I use as front L/C/R's are slightly rounded on top and the Atmos modules won't fit properly, but they would fit properly on top of the KEF Q100's that I'm looking at adding as L/R Surround speakers.

I’ve gone to the Xbox Settings under Volume & audio output and select from Headset format: Dolby Atmos for Headphones. If I leave the page and come back the settings are back to Windows Sonic for Headphones. 2. Via the Dolby app I attempt setting up there.

If the Atmos decoder is active it "subtracts" the height effects from the 7.1 signal and renders them to the height channels (precisely according to the coordinates to all available channels).

May 5, 2021 · As for the two surrounds and four Atmos speakers, how do I go about placing them? I don't think I can use in-ceiling ones as my ceiling is concrete. I was also under the impression that for 5.1, the surrounds are placed from 90 - 110 degrees off-axis but the 5.1.4 overhead speaker setup article that you linked to says 110 - 120 degrees.
