2001年4月13日 · Haven't even tried the cases used in option 2. They are still covered with a green layer. I have ordered a vibratory tumbler to test the treated media. Since our objective was to clean brass option 4 and 3 did what we wanted. As for polishing brass we will wait on the tumbler. I am sure that many prefer to run polished brass throught their presses.

2012年2月7日 · A case cleaning solution including vinegar and salt was common for Army use as far back as the 1930s. Neither acedic (vinegar) nor citric (Lemishine) acids cause any problems with brass. Ammonia IS a problem for brass, especially liquid, so don't let cases even sit in the fumes of that stuff.

I was researching different methods and will probably just wash the rifle brass in boiling water (with some type of low sud soap).

Because of condition, I have purchased as many as 1,400 30/06 cases for .01 cent each, tumbling the cases clean would have required 4 plus days at 100 cases at a time. At that rate tumbling 1,400 cases would could require 56 days.

2010年8月27日 · Yep. Clean cases are what we actually need and a wash does that quite well. Lay wet cases on newspaper, one layer deep, and in the sun until it's completly dry inside, about 24 hours seems to do it. Don't use Brasso on cases. In it's liquid form it contains ammonia and that makes brass brittle. Nothing is gained by polishing cases anyway.
