2007年6月29日 · It is worth noting that Battledress type uniforms were worn by naval officers from 1941, as a non-regulation uniform. These varied from dyed army battledress, to specially tailored items that resembled the later issued uniform. Usually they had buckle waist fastenings, a collar that resembled the army, but with exposed buttons and pleated pockets.

The uniform you have (what a bargain as well!!) is the style and material used right up until the late 60's. It is of that superb thick soft cloth material. It can be washed very easily as it will then stop the white trim from going yellow.

2009年1月23日 · The Navy changed to a pewter (a/k/a Zumwalt) button that was identical in styling to the gold button authorized for officers and chiefs. The pewter button began to appear on peacoats issued to recruits in 1974, with Navy wide changeover required by July 1, 1976 .

2008年4月9日 · And the idea that you had a uniform for parades and a uniform for actual combat was a fairly recent idea in the middle of the 20th century. I believe WWII was the first time soldiers (at least in this country) were issued different uniforms for different roles.

2024年12月16日 · beautiful pair of genuine authentic british army regimental boots. these are the type worn by the british guards regiments and were made by pollard and sons of northampton england who were one of the suppliers of boots to the guards regiments. they were sold briefly in the u.s. through the "british isle collection" catalog over 45 years ago!
