There are automotive headlamp bulbs with nominal 12v 55w ratings that produce 1000 lumens (nominal) at 13.2v —H4 low beam filament, for example — and there are automotive headlamp bulbs with nominal 12v 55w ratings that produce 1800 lumens (nominal) at 13.2v — H2, for example.

2022年1月30日 · The factory bulbs last a very long time, but give performance that starts out poor (low flux, low luminance) and gets much worse over time (even lower flux and luminance). The '04 Forester headlamps are not an especially high performance design even when they're new, and so you benefit in terms of safety by choosing higher-performance bulbs.

The aim is rarely off either way if it's stock because aim isnt affected by driving and vibration. What affects aim is when you remove the entire headlight housing and install a new one. Replacing the bulb has no effect on aim.
