2017年1月31日 · Bob Crane’s autopsy began in a most unusual way — performed on the bed where he was bludgeoned to death. On the afternoon of June 29th, Maricopa County Medical Examiner, Dr. Heinze Karnitschinig, arrived at Crane’s apartment at about 4:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 28, 1978, after completing an evening performance and signing autographs for fans in the lobby, Crane returned briefly to his Scottsdale, Arizona apartment with a longtime friend, Los Angeles video equipment salesclerk John Carpenter.

On June 29, 1978, the murder of Bob Crane sent shockwaves through Hollywood after the TV star, best known for his role as Colonel Hogan on the hit TV show Hogan’s Heroes, was found bludgeoned to death in his apartment.

Crime scene photos online show the shirtless actor partially covered by a flowered bed sheet laying on the left side of the mattress.
