The Aubrac or Laguiole is a French breed of beef cattle. It originates on the Plateau de l'Aubrac in the Massif Central in central southern France, from which it also takes its name. It has a wheat-coloured coat and dark hooves, switch, muzzle and eyes.

2023年2月17日 · The Aubrac is one of the oldest French cattle breeds, tracing its records back to the seventeenth century in the valley of the Truyere in France’s southern Massif Central. Though once known for its rough-and-tumble badlands, today it is a richly-fertile agricultural area.

Aubrac cattle are hardy, and can adapt to quite tough conditions. Their original environment in Auvergne, France, would have been in harsh mountainous areas, at altitudes of nearly 3,000 feet. This breed can feed well on rough forage such as grass, hay and finish well.
