The beautiful town of American Falls, with the population of 4,428, is nestled along the edge of the Snake River and the American Falls Reservoir and serves as the business and economic hub for Power County in southeastern Idaho.

American Falls- a small, multicultural Idaho city of modest historical homes- was moved to their present site by a 1925 damming of the Snake River nearly a century ago. It is 20 miles from a state university and less than 3 hours from the metropolitan Salt Lake City.

The City of American Falls utilizes the Rapid Rail System for garbage collection. This system is fully automated and features heavy plastic containers, a hydraulic lift and special truck. The driver, from the inside of the truck, operates that lift which clamps onto the plastic containers, dumping garbage into the truck.

Trenner Park, also known as Three Layer Park, is maintained by Idaho Power Company and offers picnic facilities, access to a fishing dock, and great panoramic views of the American Falls Dam and Snake River area below the dam.
