高等法院. 高等法院由上诉法庭及原讼法庭组成，具上诉及原讼司法管辖权，可以审理上诉及初审案件。 上诉权是香港法律制度的重要一环，因为上级法院可藉此覆核下级法院的判决。

1) Criminal Appeals. When an accused in a criminal case is convicted and not satisfied with a decision made by the Court of First Instance or the District Court, he or she may lodge an application for leave to appeal with the Court of Appeal within 28 days from the day of conviction/sentence.

The High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region [1] is a part of the legal system of Hong Kong.It consists of the Court of Appeal and the Court of First Instance; it deals with criminal and civil cases which have risen beyond the lower courts.
