Initiatives like SockTober, Have a Heart for Animals, CANstruction, and the Bobcat Bundles Project highlight our dedication to helping those in need, spreading kindness, and learning from our community.

The bobcat, known for its fierceness and courage, was adopted by the university as its mascot in 1921. In 1964, the Texas State Bobcat was given the official name of "Boko" by Beth Greenlees, a sophomore from Luling, Texas, who won the "Name the Bobcat" contest.

2012年6月22日 · "Boko the First" was officially debuted at the Texas A&I , now Texas A&M-Kingsville, football game. At the time, a live bobcat was used and students were able to view their mascot as he was displayed from a trailer at the game. Today, "Boko the Bobcat" still remains as the mascot of Texas State University.
