But when I open excel, word or any other software it says "most of the features are disable because your Office product is inactive", It tooks me to websites and ask me to buy office.

I mean that my computer is still accessing Word 2010 rather than a later version of Word that must come with Microsoft 365 Family. If your answer does apply, how do I get to Apps and Features, and will I lose documents in Word if I uninstall it? Thanks.

2014年8月16日 · When I opened up my laptop this morning (8/16/14) there was a pop-up on the screen telling me there was an update available for Microsoft Word Starter 2010 and asking me if I wanted to download it. It did not look like the typical Windows or Office update notification. I closed the pop-up and opened Windows update and ran it.

2016年2月9日 · Did you try to open a document? Word 2010 and 2016 use the same file format. How Windows describes the files is immaterial, the files themselves haven't changed. Right click a document and select Open With > Choose another app. Select Word 2010 and check the box to always open with this application.
