Bike Forums - Park Tool CB-4 Chainbrite vs cheap citrus degreaser
Got some CB-4 the other day at a bike store. $13.99 for a bottle - which I notice doesn't have any volume info on the bottle - the Park Tool website says it's 16oz. The Chainbrite works fine - my observation is HDX citrus degreaser from Home Depot $2.97 for 32oz works at least as well. I picked up a gallon of Zep citrus degreaser concentrate for $11.47 which I anticipate to work …

2007年9月10日 · The chain manufactures are pushing this idea so you'll replace a chain every 3,000 miles or when you replace tires you replace your chain thus you pay $30 or so for a new chain instead of $10 for a bottle of degreaser. Don't forget you can get a lot of degreaser for $10 at an auto parts store, that $10 stuff at the LBS is green degreaser supposely.

2008年9月29日 · The reason soaking the chain isn't recommended is that doing so causes the roller bushings lose their permeated lube. To re-permeate the bushings is very difficult, esp since they're surrounded by degreaser when you take the chain out of the degreasing tub/container.
