Bart's Haircut is the fifteenth Simpsons short and originally aired on The Tracey Ullman Show November 15, 1987. Bart walks into the family room with a sombrero, and Dad asks him why he is always wearing that hat.

The one thing that has remained fairly consistent, however, is their unnatural hair. Homer is stuck with comb-over squiggles, Marge keeps her blue beehive, and Lisa, Maggie, and Bart retain their spiky, yellow locks.

Bart is a beautiful ten-year old boy who has yellow skin and blond spiky hair (naturally pale red as revealed in "No Loan Again, Naturally") that matches the color of his skin (similar to his sisters - on one occasion, this caused distress in all three of the siblings and had them wonder where their heads end and their hair actually starts ...

Bart goes to Snipper Cuts and Shaves to get his hair cut, but Jake the Barber does not know how to trim hair properly and Bart ends up going bald. His family laughs at his haircut. Their hair is blonde, the same color as their skin. You'd be able to notice it more if they were inbred freaks, with pink skin, no overbites and five fingers on each hand.

He states: "The most central signifier in Bart is his hair. Like Marge's, it is not like the rest of the family's. Its spiked quality suggests punk culture, but its height makes it look more like a crown. It could even resemble popular African American hairstyles. (Grossberg 1998:171)" * His skin is yellow, which seems to be the norm on the show.

Homer locks himself and Bart in a room, but Snake's hair takes control of him. Homer tries to kill Bart with a sledgehammer. Bart begs Homer to fight the hair. After a struggle, Homer rips the hair off his head. However, the scalp comes to life, attempting to suffocate Bart whilst Homer ineffectually punches it, if anything hurting Bart.
