480 volt 3 wire transformer bank - Electrician Talk
2024年1月26日 · Three pole transformer with 480/277 are normally Wye connected. H1 on all three inter-connected neutral. H2 are hots. Delta 480 has X2 and X1 connected on each adjacent transformer. X2 typically hots. Dropping a single X1 line from each transformer without any other connection doesn’t create any fixed voltage on the secondary.
Correctly Sizing Feeder - Electrician Talk
2010年11月1日 · What size is the transformer? I will guess it is a 75 kVA which means the 480 volt feeder should be about 125 to 150 amps. You might be able to sneak by with 100 amps, but that 100 amp breaker might not handle the inrush of …
480V Delta vs 480V Y - Electrician Talk
2009年3月7日 · The best way to create 480 volt Y would be to use the primary of the incoming service and install the appropriate transformer. If that is not possible use (3)-single phase 37 kva transformers 277 volt primary / 120-240 volt secondary. Of course the 277 volt will be used as the secondary connected is Y configuation.
480-120/240 transformer grounding - Electrician Talk
2017年5月19日 · The 480 panel in the shed, would be a sub panel requiring an EGC to the service disconnect. The 240/120 panel would be a separately derived system requiring grounding/bonding of: transformer XO, building steel, transformer enclosure, panel enclosure, and any grounding electrodes required in the jurisdiction.
208 to 480V 3 phase Step-Up - Electrician Talk
2013年4月3日 · The green wire coming out of that secondary output, is nothing more then a transformer core bond wire. This 3 phase, 3 wire arrangment could lead to an un-safe situation. Look for a transformer output of: 277/480 volts. That neutral on the secondary side (277/480 Volt) can be grounded/bonded, thereby allowing a path for a short circuit.
eaton 15 kva transformer how to wire 480volt to120v
2014年7月25日 · 15 kva transformer yeah that's what I thought to, but looking at the connections and diagram high side of transformer 480volts connect H2-H3 Line H1-H4 240 volts connects H1H3-H2H4 line H1-H4 low side of transformer 240volts connect X2-X3 line X1-X4 120volt connect X1X3-X2X4 line X1-X4 240/120volt connect X2-X3 line X1-X3-X4 I thought on the line side 120 volt connected X1 is neutral be cause ...
Someone explain 480 delta 3 phase? - Electrician Talk
2007年3月15日 · We're working in an old mine machine factory, recently converted to a gear shop. They have 3 phase delta 480. Not sure if that's the technical name or not. So on A phase to ground you have straight 480V. B phase to ground you have 0V. C phase to ground you have 480V. No neutral comming in. A to B 480v, A to C 480v and B to C 480V.
480 volt corner grounded delta system - Electrician Talk
2012年9月12日 · The H1 to the 120 volt panel doesnt sound right to me.:001_huh: Heres what it should be: H1 to one 480 leg. H2 and H3 are wire nutted together. H4 to the other 480 leg. Green to frame. Primary is done. Now for the secondary: X1 and X3 wire nut them to 120 hot wire. X2 and X4 wire nut to white and second green.
Need 480 Volt 3 phase from 240 1 phase source - Electrician Talk
2011年7月2日 · If the transformer is 240∆ to 480∆, it really doesn't matter which two legs the controls are on. The reason being that a closed delta will tend to balance voltage at the expense of current. This is not an absolute dead-on balance, just a tendency. When a closed delta transformer is connected to an unbalanced system, there are circulating ...
Single Phase 480V Transformer Grounding Question
2017年2月11日 · Grounding the 480 volt side, you can ground the midpoint at H4-H5, giving you 240 volts to ground on each lead. Or you can ground one of the output leads, giving you 480 volts to ground. Both primary and secondary grounds need to connect to the transformer case, and you need a grounding electrode conductor sized to the secondary OCPD.
