The Ticonderoga class of guided-missile cruisers is a class of warships of the United States Navy, first ordered and authorized in the 1978 fiscal year. It was originally planned as a class of destroyers.

The United States Navy has approximately 470 ships in both active service and the reserve fleet; of these approximately 50 ships are proposed or scheduled for retirement by 2028, while approximately 110 new ships are in either the planning and ordering stages or under construction, according to the Naval Vessel Register and published reports.
