I'm wanting to make a pumpkin pie and my recipe calls for evaporated milk. My friend suggested trying unsweetened condensed milk but I don't know if the consistency would be correct.

Evaporated milk can be mixed with equal parts water to become regular milk and can be used in most recipes as a replacement for regular milk. It’s also excellent as a coffee creamer (not as fatty and thick as half and half).

Powdered milk and evaporated milk are as different as snakes and reptiles. Not anywhere close. Evaporated milk is sweet and you could use it on its own. Powdered milk is like if you took a pile of carboard, soaked it in milk, then dried that into flakes. And then farted all over that before boxing it up for sale.

2023年1月13日 · Yes, evaporated milk is what it says on the tin: milk from which much of the water has been evaporated. If you rehydrate it by stirring water back in, it should work like regular milk, at least well enough for baking.
