2025年2月6日 · Join internationally-renowned vocal ensemble The Marian Consort and their Artistic Director Rory McCleery for a choral workshop exploring the music of Renaissance composer Vicente Lusitano.

Dr. Michael A. Mitchell, DMA began his position as the Artistic Director of the Detroit Concert Choir in June 2019. He is the Director of Choral Activities at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, where he directs the University’s three choral ensembles and supervises the graduate-level choral conducting program.

Rory has conducted at prestigious venues including the Wigmore Hall and BBC Proms and has directed choirs and led masterclasses, study days and workshops in the USA, Spain, Germany, France and Italy. He features regularly on radio and television, including the recent BBC2 series 'Art That Made Us'.

In addition to serving on the board, Rory served on the 2019 Director Search Committee and maintains the choir’s performance and recording archives. His affiliations include: American Planning Association; Michigan Association of Planning; Detroit Concert Choir; National Association of Pastoral Musicians.

We provide an opportunity to learn and enjoy choral music in a relaxed and positive atmosphere with occasional workshops that are usually open to all interested singers.
