2021年2月26日 · It tries to download Games For Windows Marketplace. Even though I already have a one. And every time that launches from the Get Help button it errors out. I've tried going into my firewall settings to try and add FO3 to my firewall exceptions list. But it's never listed among the games you can choose. I see FNV there but never 3.

2024年4月4日 · Keep in mind When Fallout 3 was made even Windows 7 was not out, and it has always had issue with multi-core cpu's. My GOG version runs perfectly on my Windows 7 installation (but it still does crash from time to time), but i could see Windows 10 being a problem for many systems and such an old (unstable) game.

2020年5月17日 · It was Windows Defender. In order for Fallout 3 to run properly, the game has to build a set of files in your X:/Documents/My Games/Fallout3 folder. Windows Defender (and most Antivirus/Firewall software) can restrict .exe files from making changes to your computer, and this includes Fallout 3.

2017年6月20日 · That did the trick. I had to install it instead of just extracting the .dll files. I got confused because you the file you first download only installs or extracts all the .dll archives. The actual DirectX installer is buried in there, and after running that installer, Fallout 3 was able to run. Thank you again.

2017年6月5日 · What fixed it for me was installing Tale of Two Wastelands for Fallout: New Vegas. That mod basically repackages the entirety of FO3 as mod for Fallout: New Vegas - meaning when you hit "New game" in New Vegas, it'll take you to Fallout 3 (you can travel to the Mojave via a train station in D.C. to access New Vegas).
