Abronia vasconcelosii, sometimes known as Bocourt's arboreal alligator lizard, [4] is a species of lizard in the family Anguidae. [1] [3] It is endemic to the plateau of the Guatemalan Highlands, where it occurs in lower montane moist forest and cloud forest habitat at elevations around 2,000–2,200 m (6,600–7,200 ft) above sea level. Abronia is a genus of lizards, known colloquially as alligator lizards, in the family Anguidae that is native to Mexico and Central America. The majority of the species are restricted to southern Mexico and Guatemala, but members of the genus occur as far south as Panama. [2] .

2021年1月1日 · Abronia campbelli and A. vasconcelosii were not exclusive with respect to each other, and thus it is likely that A. campbelli actually is a junior synonym of A. vasconcelosii. Our results also suggest that the populations of A. aff. vasconcelosii may represent an undescribed lineage distinct from the latter taxa and from A. matudai .

Shortly after birth, juvenile Abronia vasconcelosii demonstrate agility and climbing ability. Abronia spend most of their lives among the epiphytes of the cloud forests. Species of Abronia occur from southern Tamaulipas and Guerrero, Mexico, to southern Honduras (Campbell and Frost 1993).
