'Crown of the Palace') is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the right bank of the river Yamuna in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was commissioned in 1631 by the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan (r. 1628–1658) to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself.

Inside Taj Maha, there are cenotaphs and graves of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan, walls decorated in semi-precious stones and floors covered in octagonal stars.

Four minarets frame the tomb, one at each corner of the plinth facing the chamfered corners. The main chamber houses the false sarcophagi of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan; the actual graves are at a lower level. The mausoleum represents the culmination of the entire Taj complex, so the inner domed hall represents the climax of the mausoleum.
