This is seemingly a remnant from the PS3 headset days where this was originally perpetuated from. It wasn’t true then, and has yet to be true now.

Great headset for the price. Sony knows how to make crisp sound. Its definitely optimized for the PS5. It works for the PC but my Razer kraken tournament (which I paid like 90$ one year ago during black friday) are working a lot better on my PC. I can see Sony release some kind of PC drivers to optimize the headset on PC as well.

2020年11月20日 · I think it sounds great and all of my friends have said that the mic sounds great as well. It connects fine w/ the PS5, but is not as “integrated” meaning that it doesn’t not automatically switch the audio output to the headphones when you turn them on, and things like changing the volume don’t appear on screen like they do with the pulse.

2023年10月8日 · If you just want good audio quality and 3D audio then you're better off with pretty much everything else. Because regular headphones also support 3D audio. I'm using my Sony WH1000-XM5 when I want to use headphones.

The pulse is a great headset, I need to put that first.... But I was disappointed because I owned the PS Platinum headset and it's literally the same headset with an updated battery and charging type C port. It's the same as the PS Gold (updated) with a PS5 reskin. Again, great headset. 3D audio is very crisp, very distinct.
