Judge Beverly Cannone sent jurors home for the day shortly before 4 p.m. Deliberations resume Wednesday morning.

Jurors spent more than 20 hours deliberating in the Karen Read case. Nearly a year ago, the first trial ended in mistrial.

Read was accused of hitting her boyfriend with her car and leaving him to die in a snowstorm, but alleged she was the victim of a cover-up by his fellow officers. Her 2024 trial ended in a hung jury.
