发炎（inflammation）是免疫系统对外来威胁作出的自然反应，例如细菌感染、创伤或毒素。当身体检测到威胁时，会释放出多种免疫细胞和化学物质，引发局部发红、肿胀、发热与疼痛，这是急性发炎。
