Southwest Airlines is transitioning to standard seat assignments in 2025 due to customer preference for assigned seats.

Each seat has a pitch of 32 inches ... which are appropriate to some markets. Southwest has been the largest operator of the 737-700, having around 500 in its fleet at its peak.
