A Mastic man is facing several charges after Nassau County police said he attempted to return a replica pistol that he was accused of taking from the Museum of American Armor just days earlier.
Police accused Asaro of taking a replica Colt 1911A1 non-functioning pistol from a mannequin's holster and placing it into his shorts pocket before walking out of the building and leaving the scene.
