An Associated Press photographer captured the shooting of a civilian by a Kenyan police officer in the head at close range.

A Kenyan police officer has been arrested over the shooting of an unarmed civilian on Tuesday during protests in the capital Nairobi touched off by the death of a blogger in police custody, a police spokesperson said.

The protests and police shooting on Tuesday came nearly a year after demonstrations against President William Ruto of Kenya convulsed the country.
