Jonathan Toews will officially return to the NHL next season, ending a two-year hiatus that many fans expected was more likely to lead him into retirement than back to the rink. On Friday, the 37-year-old center who captained the Chicago Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups agreed to a one-year deal with his hometown Winnipeg Jets.

Former Chicago Blackhawks star Jonathan Toews is back in the NHL. Toews agreed to sign with the Winnipeg Jets on Friday, as he looks to continue his career in the league. Toews had been out of hockey since the 2023 season,

The Winnipeg native is expected to sign a one-year deal with his hometown team. The contract cannot be registered until July 1.
