An organisation that monitors flight risks warned on Sunday that U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear sites could heighten the threat to American operators in the region as airlines continued to avoid large parts of the Middle East due to ongoing missile exchanges.

According to FlightRadar24, commercial aircraft have been rerouting to bypass Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian, and Israeli airspace, instead flying over safer corridors like the Caspian Sea to the north or Egypt and Saudi Arabia to the south.

Dubai and Doha are two of the busiest transit hubs connecting the Middle East to the United States, Europe, and Asia. The airline shutdowns mark a serious disruption to global travel at a moment when tensions continue to escalate.
