The National Weather Service confirmed five tornadoes in Okmulgee and McIntosh counties following a line of severe storms Tuesday morning, with damage reported to homes, trees and power poles across parts of Henryetta,

In Irving, a tornado with winds up to 110 mph struck, while another touched down in the 16,000-resident city of Ada, Oklahoma, according to preliminary information from the National Weather Service. There were also two tornadoes in Louisiana’s northern Caddo Parish and at least five in eastern Oklahoma.

Several power poles were snapped, roofs and outbuildings damaged, and trees uprooted as winds reached 105 mph in some places, according to a preliminary National Weather Service report.

Nearly 20,000 power outages were reported in Oklahoma after severe storms blew through the state Monday night and early Tuesday morning. Most of the outages are in Pontotoc County.
