Smoke from wildfires in Canada has spread more than 5,000 miles, reaching parts of Russia and Europe during the past week.

Scientists discovered a microcontinent between Greenland and Canada that could explain their evolution. The microcontinent was found beneath the Davis Strait and is 250 miles long.
