PATERSON — Shadasia Green’s boxing career began almost by accident two decades ago. Her Eastside High School basketball coach sent her to a local boxing gym to practice her footwork.

Green had to rebuild herself after her first and only professional loss, to Franchón Crews-Dezurn in 2023. The WBO is one of four organizations that crown world champions in women's boxing.
