Lithium-ion batteries caused the five-alarm Bronx house fire that injured two residents, including a child, and 13 firefighters and medics, the FDNY said Monday.

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A five-alarm fire broke out at a residential building in the Bronx Sunday evening, according to the FDNY. Three firefighters were injured, one critically, officials say.

The FDNY says the fire started just after 10:20 p.m. on the second floor of 55 Lenox Road. Around an hour later, firefighters found a 50-year-old man unconscious inside the building.

The latest victim was recovered Saturday, the FDNY said. According to the FDNY, the fire started around 2 p.m. at a private three-story home at 104-18 125 Street in South Ozone Park.
