A chimney cake, or Kürtöskalács in Hungarian, is a crispy-yet-fluffy cake that is made of a simple, sweet dough, rolled in sugar, wrapped around a spit, and baked over charcoal.

In Hungary, the chimney cake is made over charcoal with nothing inside. However, Provillon said Americans aren’t the biggest fans of the plain dessert.
