A man stole jewelry from a North Carolina Walmart after getting a baseball bat and damaging the display cases, according to Boone police. The theft happened about 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

Boone police said Peter Grant Catoe, 30, of Boone, went into the Walmart store on Saturday and got a baseball bat before going to the Jewelry Department.
