A judge intends to rule this week on a plan for local governments and individual victims to vote on OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma’s plan to settle thousands of lawsuits over the toll of opioids.

More states, territories and Washington, D.C., have signed on to a settlement with drugmaker Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family over the opioid crisis, officials said.

Purdue Pharma and Sackler family members who own the company have reached a $7.4 billion settlement with all 50 states and U.S. territories over the company's improper marketing of opioids.
