A heat wave is moving in, with over 100 million people from the Midwest to the Northeast on alert for life-threatening heat this weekend and into next week.

Heat dome will cause dangerously high temperatures in many places across the country this weekend, especially the Midwest and East Coast.

A “significant and extremely dangerous heat wave” is expected to send temperatures soaring across much of the United States in the coming days, stretching from the Central Plains to the East Coast, according to forecasters with the Weather Prediction Center.
