The North Carolina Tar Heels rolled over San Diego State in the First Four of the 2025 men's NCAA Tournement, but fell just shy of making history among the Big Dance's biggest blowouts.

RJ Davis and his North Carolina teammates certainly looked as though they belonged in the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday night. Davis scored 26 points and shot 6 of 6 from 3-point range to help the Tar Heels silence some skeptics with a dominant 95-68 victory over San Diego State in their First Four matchup.

Every talking head on Earth (and even some government officials) has seemingly given their take on how much North Carolina did not deserve to darken the doorstep of the NCAA Tournament. The Tar Heels showed up to Dayton with something to prove to silence their critics and brought a healthy serving of crow with them as they dismantled one of the best defenses in the country on their way to a 95-68 win against San Diego State in the First Four.
